I attended the Astro landscape workshop at Singalila National Park in October 2022. The workshop was conducted by Rajat Malakar and Mrinmay Nayek.

I came to know of this workshop though Mrinmay Nayek’s photos on Instagram and signed up for it.
What went well: Right from the beginning, both Rajat and Mrinmay were extremely forthcoming in answering my questions about the workshop. They guided me about what sort of cameras and lenses and tripods would be helpful.
Once the workshop started, they handled the coaching with a lot of professionalism. It started with Apratim Das, who is the head of Exposure, giving an overview of photography and gear. His knowledge on the subject is vast and amazing and it was a joy to see his passion for all things related to photography.
This continued with the mentors giving us an overview of astro photography and then guiding us at every step of the tour. Right from the composition to camera settings to the processing of photos at the end, both mentors covered everything thoroughly and professionally.
They are still conducting follow up classes and even give 1-1 sessions if required to help with post processing and doubts.
I thoroughly enjoyed the workshop and have immense respect for the mentors – their knowledge, patience, and dedication. I saw some of the best views in the world and made some of the most beautiful memories and photos of my life.

What could have been better: I was the only woman photographer in the group. I was treated with extreme respect and did not face too much difficulties. However, I would have preferred having better accommodation/more privacy in some of the places we stayed at.

Will I do another workshop with Exposure if the chance arises: Yes!
